Finishing & Keepers’ Academy
Seacoast United Maine will be hosting two weeks of Finishing & Keepers’ Academy, aimed at fine-tuning these specialist positions. SUSC-ME’s Director of Goalkeeping Martyn Keen will run the keepers through their paces, working on shot-stopping techniques, positioning, footwork, dealing with crosses, anticipation, and many more topics. The strikers will be challenged by SUSC-ME coaching directors on the importance of a 1-touch finish, quick shooting, instep and laces techniques, volleys, headers, scoring from crosses, and much more. Players will be split into similar age groups and work on age-appropriate topics. Tuition includes a Nike soccer ball and t-shirt.
Passing & 1st Touch
This camp will specifically focus on players first touch, passing accuracy, decision making, technique and movement off the ball. A players’ first touch can be argued to be the most important skill to master as it directly relates to a players ability to keep possession of the ball. We will work on processes which lead to a good first touch, the though process and technique behind a good pass as well as how to move dynamically off the ball once a pass is made.
