Brian Cooke - Director of Club Development

Brian is currently the head coach for the Seacoast United Maine South U12 Boys team.  He is the former president and founder of Maine Metro F.C., which merged with Seacoast United Maine in July of 2010.  He is originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica & played on the Jr. National soccer team that represented Jamaica at the 1973 and 1974 CONCACAF Tournaments.

Brian is a former player of University of Southern Maine (USM).  He first attended USM on a soccer scholarship in 1974, where he won the NAIA and Division 3 State and New England championships in 1975 and 1976 respectively.  He was selected for the NSCAA All-American team in 1976, NAIA All-American Team in 1976 and 1977.  He was named All-State and All-New England from 1974 through 1977.  Brian was inducted into the University of Southern Maine’s Sports Hall of Fame in March 1988.

Prior to playing for USM, Brian played at Cornwall College High School in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He played two years for Los Perfectos and Violet Kickers (Jamaican Division 1 club teams) while playing in high school.

After playing for USM, he played semi-professional in the Massachusetts A-League for Acropolis Soccer Club, and local Greater Portland men’s league teams Budweiser Kings and Acorn Kings both indoor and outdoor.

Brian received the University of Southern Maine’s Silver Anniversary Award on September 29, 2001 in recognition of his outstanding athletic accomplishments at the University.  He received his USSF "D" Coaching License in 1999, and recently completed his USSF "C" License in June of 2010.
