Seacoast United’s "Taste of English Football" trip took in two matches over the weekend.  The group split into two on Saturday, with one attending the Arsenal v. Sunderland game at Emirates Stadium in front of 60,000 fans, where Arsenal came out on top 2-0.  The others travelled by tube to West Ham’s Upton Park, and saw the Hammers enjoy a 3-0 victory over Hull City.  On Sunday, all 27 in the party saw Fulham come from behind with two superb strikes from Damian Duff and Bobby Zamora, the latter in the 90th minute.  Fulham ran out winners in a 2-1 victory at home over Birmingham City. 

The trip wrapped up its final full day in the UK on Tuesday with a trip to the historic towns of Woodstock and Oxford.  The group enjoyed a morning tour of the beautiful Blenheim Palace (birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill).  That afternoon, a private open-top sightseeing tour bus took the group around town before dropping them at Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United, for their 3rd and final match of the 6-day trip.  The "U’s" were set to play 5th place AFC Wimbledon in an important Conference Blue Square Premier match at 7:45pm. 

Prior to the game, the Seacoast group was escorted on a tour of the Club Shop, stadium, and facilities by Oxford United Chairman Kelvin Thomas.  The children of the SUSC group participated in pre-gamere ceremonies as the "12th Man", leading both home and visiting teams onto the playing field just prior to kickoff.  In an exciting game with over 6,200 fans in attendance, Oxford United came away with a 2-0 victory and currently sits at the top of the Conference Blue Square Premier by 6 points.

After returning to London that night, the group spent Wednesday morning in London to tour England’s capital city before departing from Heathrow for Boston later that afternoon.
